1.The importance of automotive wiring harnesses
As the core of power and signal transmission, automotive wiring harnesses are increasingly important in new energy vehicles. It connects the central control unit with the control units of each module of the vehicle, the electrical and electronic execution units and sensors, ensuring the smooth operation of the system. With the rise of new energy vehicles, automotive wiring harnesses have gradually evolved from a single low-voltage wiring harness to a coexistence of both low-voltage and high-voltage wiring harnesses.
2. Types of low-voltage wiring harnesses
Low-voltage wiring harnesses are classified by function and position into engine, front, instrument, middle, five-door and ceiling wiring harnesses, etc. Traditional low-voltage wiring harnesses, based on their functions and installation locations, are usually classified into the following categories:
(1) Engine wiring harness: It is responsible for connecting the positive terminal of the battery and providing the necessary power for the starter, generator and the fuse box of the front wiring harness.
(2) Front wiring harness: Located inside the car's front compartment, its main function is to connect the fuse box and link it to devices such as the ABS system and ESP.
(3) Instrument wiring harness: It is responsible for connecting the instrument cluster, driving system, etc., to ensure that the driver can conveniently control these functions.
(4) Central wiring harness: It serves to connect various devices such as instrument wiring harnesses and four-door wiring harnesses.
(5) Five-door wiring harness: Responsible for controlling devices such as car Windows, doors, and rearview mirrors.
(6)Ceiling wiring harness: It mainly connects indoor lighting fixtures, skylight motors and other equipment.
3. The function of connectors
Connectors are responsible for the transmission of power and signals between different devices and are key components of the wiring harness.
4. The use of clips and rubber sleeves
In addition, the orientation and fixation of the wiring harness are also of vital importance, which involves the application of clips. The clips are used to fix the wiring harness, and the rubber sleeves provide through-hole protection to ensure the safety of the wiring harness. Common types of snap fasteners include stud clips, sheet metal clips, etc., to ensure they are firm and safe.
